Causative Verbs

Ø  ऐसे वाक्य जिससे यह बोध होता है कि कार्य किसी दूसरे की सहायता से होता है , पर कर्ता स्वयं भी उसमें भाग लेता है .... का अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद इस प्रकार होता है –

Simple Present

Subject + make/makes + object (Noun or Pronoun) + Verb 1

1.      तुम मुझे रुलाते हो |   You make me cry.

2.      मैं आपको नहीं दौड़ाता हूँ |  I do not make you run.

3.      क्या आप उसे हंसाते हैं ?  Do you make him laugh?

4.      क्या वह बच्चे को नहीं सुलाती है ? Does she not make the child sleep ?

5.      आप उसे पेड़ पर क्यूँ चढ़ाते हैं ? Why do you make him climb on a tree ?

6.      तुम रोगी को क्यूँ नहीं टहलाते हो ? Why do you not make the patient walk ?

Present Continuous

Subject + is/am/are + making + object (Noun or Pronoun) + Verb 1

1.      तुम मुझे रुला  रहे हो |   You are making me cry.

2.      मैं आपको नहीं दौड़ा रहा हूँ |  I am not making you run.

3.      क्या आप उसे हंसा  रहे हैं ?  Are you making him laugh?

4.      क्या वह बच्चे को नहीं सुला  रही है ? Is she not making the child sleep ?

5.      आप उसे पेड़ पर क्यूँ चढ़ा रहे हैं ? Why are you making him climb on a tree ?

6.      तुम रोगी को क्यूँ नहीं टहला  रहे हो ? Why are you not making the patient walk ?

Present Perfect

Subject + has/have + make + object (Noun or Pronoun) + Verb 1

1.      तुमने मुझे रुलाया है |   You have made me cry.

Subject + has/have + been + making + object (Noun or Pronoun) + Verb 1

1.      तुम मुझे वर्षों से रुला  रहे हो |   You have been making me cry for years.

2.      मैं आपको सुबह से नहीं दौड़ा रहा हूँ |  I have not been making you run since morning.

3.      क्या आप उसे एक घंटे से हंसा रहे हैं ?  Have you been making him laugh for an hour?

4.      क्या वह बच्चे को घंटों से नहीं सुला रही है ? Has she not been making the child sleep for hours?

5.      आप उसे दस दिनों से पेड़ पर क्यूँ चढ़ा रहे हैं ? Why have you been making him climb on a tree for ten days?

6.      तुम रोगी को दो दिनों से क्यूँ नहीं टहला रहे हो ? Why have you not been making the patient walk for two days?

Simple Past

Subject + made + object (Noun or Pronoun) + Verb 1

1.      तुमने मुझे रुलाया |   You made me cry.

1.      तुम मुझे रुलाओगे |   You will make me cry.

2.      मैं आपको नहीं दौड़ाऊँगा |  I shall not make you run.

3.      क्या आप उसे हंसाएंगे ?  Will you make him laugh?

4.      क्या वह बच्चे को नहीं सुलाएगी ? Will she not make the child sleep ?

5.      आप उसे पेड़ पर क्यूँ चढ़ाएंगे ? Why will you make him climb on a tree ?

6.      तुम रोगी को क्यूँ नहीं टहलाओगे ? Why will you not make the patient walk ?

Ø  ऐसे वाक्य जिसके क्रिया से यह बोध होता है कि कार्य बिलकुल दूसरे के द्वारा होता है और कर्ता उसमें  भाग नहीं लेता है ....का अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद इस प्रकार होता है –

Rule  :-  Subject + can/could + have + object + past participle.

OR

Subject + can/could + get/could have got + object + past participle.

1.      राम पत्र लिखवा सकता है | Ram can have a letter written.  OR  Ram can get a letter written.

2.      राम पत्र लिखवा सका | Ram could get a letter written.  OR  Ram could have got a letter written.

3.      राम पत्र लिखवा सकता था | Ram could have a letter written. OR Ram could have got a letter written.

4.      धनी व्यक्ति यह सब करा ले सकते हैं | The rich can have all this done. OR The rich can get all this done.

Ø  Translate into English.

वह मुझे पिटवा सकता है | वह मुझे पिटवा सकता था | मोहन उसे मरवा सकता है | मोहन उसे मरवा सकता था | वह झोपड़ियों को जलवा सकता है | वह झोपड़ियों को जलवा सकता था | मैं सड़कों की मरम्मत करवा सकता हूँ | मैं सड़कों की मरम्मत करवा सकता था | पुलिस चोरों को पकड़वा सकती है | पुलिस चोरों को पकड़वा सकती था | वह मुझे पुरस्कृत करवा सकता है | वह मुझे पुरस्कृत करवा सकता था |

                                       Rules :-     Subject + should have + object + past participle.

OR

Subject + should + get + object + past participle.

And

                                                         Subject + should have got + object + past participle.

मुझे यह कार्य करवाना चाहिए |

I should have this work done.      OR     I should get this work done.

मुझे यह कार्य करवाना चाहिए था |      I should have got this work done.

Ø  Translate into English.

उसे बच्चों को पढवाना चाहिए | उसे बच्चों को पढवाना चाहिए था | मुझे किताब छपवानी चाहिए | मुझे किताब छपवानी चाहिए थी | उन्हें गरीबों को खिलवाना चाहिए | उन्हें गरीबों को खिलवाना चाहिए था | मुझे खेतों को जुतवाना चाहिए | मुझे खेतों को जुतवाना चाहिए था | उन्हें जंगलों को कटवाना चाहिए | उन्हें जंगलों को कटवाना चाहिए था |

v  कर्ता + कर्म + प्रेरणार्थक क्रिया (धातु + ना) + है

Rules :-     Subject + has/have + to + get + object + past participle.

मुझे अपने बच्चों को आपसे पढ़वानी है | I have to get my children taught by you.

मुझे नाली साफ़ करवानी है | उसे तुम्हें समझाना है | मुझे आपलोगों को हँसाना है | तुम्हें उसे नहीं रुलाना है | तुम्हें अपनी बाल कटवानी है | तुम्हें रोगियों को टहलना है | क्या तुम्हें उसे दौड़ाना है ? मुझे कब उनलोगों को पढवाना है ? रोहन को कब यह कम करवाना है ? आपको कब मुझसे यह पत्र लिखवानी है ?
